Not just a hop skip and a jump

Well I am now typing from my hotel in Milan. It was a long haul to get here. 14 hours from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi and then another 6.5 hours to Milan. I am feeling a little jet lagged but headed down to the Conference Centre and completed my registration. It is very warm here and having left Melbourne when it was only 17 it is a bit of a shock to the system to walk a few blocks with the temperature at 34 degrees. Now the plan is to get enough sleep to ensure that I am tuned in for the first day tomorrow the conference opens at 9am. Scanning the programme there looks like there is an interesting session on Sunday afternoon on academic and research libraries where they have 6 speakers all introducing a "hot topic"

I had a friendly voice on the other end of the phone just now - Andrew Stephenson - he is also here attending ILFA and has just come from Munich and another conference. I hope to catch up with him tomorrow.

Took a couple of quick snaps outside the convention centre (see above and below) better ones to come once i have got over this jetlag
